Background
The Economic Fundamentals Initiative works to promote economic literacy among the younger generations in Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia by fostering learning and discussion about economics in the native languages of these countries (see more at https://www.econfun.org) Our activities started in 2019 around the regionalization, translation and free distribution of the book "Common Sense Economics" by James Gwartney et al in our target regions, in both e-book and printed format. Through the last 3 years, the EFI activities have expanded in development of teaching materials, videos and educating different target groups to improve their economics literacy.
EFI is currently implementing an exciting capacity building project “Teacher Training Pilot” which will expand the teaching and learning of economics at schools in Georgia, Kosovo and Ukraine and serve as a pathfinder for other countries seeking to raise national standards of economic and financial literacy.
