Financial literacy tour in public schools of Georgia

GELi is conducting Financial Literacy meetings at Georgian public schools, supporting partners are Bank of Georgia, USAID Civic Education Program, PH International,

GELi will visit 11 regions of Georgia to hold 26 meetings at schools. Each regional meeting covers schools from neighboring towns and villages, total number of schoolchildren participating can reach 3 thousand and only 7-12 graders attend. GELi speakers will talk to students about key ideas of personal finance, budgeting principles, importance and role of savings for achieveing financial viability of personal goals. Meetings last an hour and priority is to engage children in discussions and that they reach important findings and conclusions by the end of the meeting. In addition GELi take this opportunity to spread work among schoolchildren and school teachers about importance of economics literacy, Common Sence Economics, and GELi activities.
